Corale Dorn

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Owner

I’m a second-generation veterinarian. My parents owned their own clinic in western South Dakota. As you can imagine, this introduced me to the veterinary field at a young age and I didn’t want to be anything else. I studied for eight years to obtain my degree and continue to expand my knowledge with one hundred hours of continuing education every year. While in school, I met my husband and together we opened Dells Vet. As a doctor, my biggest responsibility is to identify areas where my patients might get sick and prevent it. But sometimes our plans don’t turn out so I also discover the source of a patient’s sickness and remedy it. Besides work, I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy any outdoor activities but triathlons are my favorite!

 Edgar Gonzalez

Bilingual Heard Health Specialist

I was born in Mexico City and grew up around animals. Ever since I was a child, I have loved animals and wanted to help them live happy and healthy lives. Because of this and my passion for serving others, I attended school at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana. Post-graduation, I spent five years working with large animals in Minnesota. After my introduction to the midwest, I moved a little to the west and joined Dells Vet. As the Bilinigaul Heard Health Advisor, I handle cattle preg checks and also give training to dairy farm employees on the best practices. Outside of the practice, I love caring for my two Scottish Terriers, even if they can be little trouble makers.

Nicole Wrage-Hansen

Certified Veterinary Technician

I’ve lived in Dell Rapids all my life. Growing up in a rural community helped me develop a love for animals and I enjoyed taking care of them. I got my first opportunity to do that professionally when I was in high school. At sixteen, I became a Kennel Attendant at Dells Vet and cared for the pets that were boarding with us. After completing my education, I became a Certified Veterinary Technician and have continued working at Dells Vet. In addition to caring for animals, I’m also passionate about helping owners and teaching them more about their pets or livestock. Outside of work, my husband and I have four dogs, seven cats, two calves, and many ducks, turkeys, and chickens. I also enjoy riding and training my horses.

Alexis Nuño

Veterinary Assistant

I spent most of my childhood in Sioux City and since I was a young girl I’ve always wanted to work with animals. I studied at Iowa Tech Community College and also got working experience at a local clinic. I ultimately decided I wanted to further my education and that’s what led me to Dells Vet. I’m passionate about veterinary medicine for a lot of reasons but one of them is because I get to help make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners. At Dells Vet, I provide support to the veterinarians and technicians, quality care for the patients, and ensure a clean and comfortable environment. In my free time, I enjoy being with my dog. I also like to go exploring and taking pictures of things I find interesting, A lot of which are of my dog.

Courtney Durbin

Veterinary Assistant

I grew up in Georgetown, Maryland. I have always had a passion for animals as long as I can remember. As I grew interested in the love for medicine, I realized the best fit would be a career path in vet med.  Settling into the Sioux Falls area brought me to my position here at Dells Vet. My position here helps me further my knowledge in the healing and care of animals along with my own pets. Outside of work I enjoy curling up with a good book, working on my many craft projects and of course (weather permitting) I love to take my cat Balthazar out for a stroll around town.

Becky Dorn

Pre-vet student from SDSU

I grew up in Dell Rapids, South Dakota. Growing up riding along with my mom (Dr. Corale Dorn) on her emergency calls is what got me interested in this type of work. I have always felt like the clients are my family, it felt right to continue my education to serve my family. While in the clinic I am helping in various areas while in college from front desk, assisting in exam rooms, doing large animal work, surgery monitoring of hospitalized patients and helping keep the clinic clean. At SDSU I am currently taking Livestock Reproduction, Biochemistry, and Livestock Breeding & Genetics classes.  As well as fine tuning my skills by working at a dairy in Iowa. Outside of work, I Love to take naps. If I am not napping you will either catch me taking care of a new pet, I brought home or watching a crime tv show.

Dan Dorn

Executive Director

My family ran a farm in southwest Minnesota. This allowed me to be around animals from a young age and led me to pursue a career in the Ag field. I graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Agriculture Business and knew I wanted to work with not only animals but people too. This is one of the reasons my wife, Dr. Corale Dorn, and I opened Dells Vet. I’m passionate about helping producers reduce risk, increase their profitability, and make their life easier. Dell Rapids hasn’t just been a great community to work in but also to raise a famiy. We have three children, Justin, Emily, and Rebecca. I’m blessed to work with both amazing people and animals!
