MMP TTA for Cranial Cruciate (Knee) Disease

The MMP (Modified Maquet Procedure) TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement) is an innovative surgery used for repairing cranial cruciate ligament ruptures in the knee joints of dogs. It is an alternative to a TPLO surgery that was introduced to the US 5 years ago. The MMP TTA procedure allows patients to return to function faster and has fewer long-term complications than other techniques. A titanium foam implant is used to advance the tibial crest, which pulls the head of the femur back into the proper position. This implant is porous and encourages bone growth into the implant for added stability. The implant will fill with enough bone 4-6 weeks after surgery to stabilize the repair.
